Client:

Engineering UK - A not for profit organisation designed to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) among school children.

Project:

'Tomorrow's Engineers EEP Robotics Challenge'

robotics.tomorrowsengineers.org.uk

Schools were given sophisticated Lego robotics kits and programming challenges that would prepare them for competitive regional meetings, and ultimately a national final.

Requirements:

Brand, website and print to promote the event.

Robotics Website on a laptop Robotics website on a mobile device

Our solution:

DX aimed to push the boundaries beyond the brief. We suggested a website that not only informed the participants, but also became part of the regional activity days. We created a unique site that allows pupils to log in and publish their own profiles and written content.

We engaged with the children through 'gamification', creating a scoring mechanism for each way in which they interacted, a high scores leaderboard and means for them to 'buzz' twitter style messages.

The result:

An overwhelming response from the children with hundreds of creative articles submitted, profiles completed and a very active scoreboard. The website was deemed a massive success and plans have been put in place for a second year.
